Welcome to Man-dle Mindset, where fragrance, product education, personal growth, and everyday calm come together.
A candle can do more than make a room smell good. It can help change the atmosphere, create a moment of peace, and give you a reason to slow down. However, the way you place, burn, extinguish, clean, and care for your candle can affect its performance and longevity.
Man-dle products are designed to give you several ways to relax, reset, and refresh your surroundings. Whether you burn a wooden-wick candle, use a candle warmer, melt wax, spray your space, or freshen your carpet, proper use helps you receive the best experience from every product.
What Makes a Man-dle Candle Different?
Man-dle candles are handcrafted with wooden wicks and designed as 2-in-1 candles.
You can enjoy your Man-dle in two different ways:
Burn it for the traditional candle experience, complete with a warm flame and the soft crackling sound of a wooden wick.
Warm it on an approved candle warmer when you want to enjoy the fragrance without lighting the wick.
Never burn the candle and warm it at the same time. Choose one method for each fragrance session.
Proper Candle Placement
One of the benefits of purchasing a Man-dle candle is that it comes with a wooden plank for the candle to sit on.
Place the wooden plank on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Center the candle evenly on top of it before lighting the wooden wick.
The plank creates an additional barrier between the warm candle vessel and the surface underneath it. This helps reduce direct heat transfer to your table, counter, shelf, or other approved surface while also completing the signature Man-dle presentation.
The wooden plank is an added layer of protection, but it should not replace proper candle safety. Always make sure:
The plank is sitting completely flat.
The candle is centered and upright.
The candle is not leaning or tilted.
The surface underneath is stable and heat-resistant.
The candle is away from edges where it could be knocked over.
Nothing flammable is located close to or above the flame.
Keep your candle away from curtains, paper, bedding, clothing, books, decorations, plants, and other materials that could catch fire.
How to Light Your Wooden Wick
Before lighting your Man-dle candle, inspect the wooden wick.
The wick should be approximately ⅛ inch above the wax. Wooden wicks perform best when they are kept short, clean, and free of excess burnt material.
Hold the flame against the wooden wick long enough for the fire to catch across its surface. A wooden wick may take slightly longer to light than a traditional cotton wick.
If the wick goes out immediately:
Allow the candle to cool completely.
Check for excess burnt wood.
Remove any loose wick debris.
Make sure the wick has not been trimmed too close to the wax.
Relight it carefully.
Do not continuously relight or handle the wick while the wax is hot.
Allow the Wax to Melt Evenly
During the first burn, allow the wax to melt toward the edges of the vessel when possible.
This creates a more even burn pattern and helps reduce tunneling. Tunneling occurs when the wax burns down through the center while unused wax remains around the sides.
The melted wax does not need to become extremely deep. The goal is to allow the top layer to warm and melt as evenly as possible.
Always monitor the candle throughout the entire burn.
Do Not Burn Your Candle Too Long
Do not burn your Man-dle candle for more than four hours at one time.
Burning a candle longer does not always create a better fragrance experience. Extended burn sessions can cause:
Excessive vessel heat
An oversized or unstable flame
Additional smoke or soot
Carbon buildup on the wick
A mushroom-shaped wick top
Faster fragrance and wax consumption
Reduced candle performance
Allowing your candle to rest between uses gives the melted wax time to cool, harden, and regain its structure.
For the best experience:
Burn it. Extinguish it. Let it cool. Reset the wick. Enjoy it again.
Never Leave a Candle Unattended
A burning candle should always remain within sight.
Extinguish the candle before:
Leaving the room
Leaving your home
Going to sleep
Stepping away for an extended period
Allowing children or pets into the area without supervision
Be mindful of wagging tails, curious paws, loose clothing, crowded furniture, and anything that could bump or disturb the candle.
The vessel and melted wax may remain hot after the flame has been extinguished.
Keep Your Candle Away From Drafts
Do not burn your candle near:
Open windows
Ceiling fans
Portable fans
Heating and cooling vents
Frequently opened doors
High-traffic walkways
Moving air can cause the flame to flicker, lean, burn unevenly, or produce additional smoke.
Use your candle in a comfortably ventilated room, but avoid placing it directly in the path of moving air.
How to Extinguish Your Man-dle Candle
The preferred way to extinguish a candle is with a candle snuffer.
A snuffer allows you to put out the flame without blowing hot wax, disturbing the wick, or creating unnecessary smoke.
Using the Man-dle Lid
Do not have a candle snuffer? That is okay.
Your Man-dle lid may be used to smother the flame.
Carefully place the lid over the candle without picking up or moving the hot vessel. Covering the candle removes the oxygen needed to support the flame, allowing it to extinguish naturally.
After placing the lid on:
Confirm that the flame is completely out.
Make sure the wooden wick is no longer glowing.
Leave the candle sitting in place.
Allow it to cool before touching, moving, or reopening it.
Check the candle after approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
The candle may require more than 15 minutes to cool completely. Cooling time depends on the vessel, room temperature, and length of the burn.
Never use water to extinguish a candle. Water can cause hot wax to splash and may damage the candle vessel.
Once the candle is completely cool, keep it covered between uses. The lid helps protect the wax from dust, wick fragments, and other debris while helping preserve the fragrance during storage.
How to Reset Your Wooden Wick
A wooden-wick trimming tool is helpful, but it is not required.
Once the candle and wax are completely cool, gently tap, pinch, or break away the loose blackened wood from the top of the wick.
Remove only the burnt and fragile portion. Leave approximately ⅛ inch of wick above the wax.
Do not trim or break the wick too short. A wick that sits too close to the wax may have difficulty staying lit.
After removing the burnt portion, make sure all wick fragments are taken out of the candle.
Do not leave burnt wood, matches, dust, or other debris inside the wax. Loose material can interfere with the flame, alter the candle’s performance, and affect the intended fragrance experience.
Do not shake the candle while the wax is warm or melted. Wait until everything is completely cool, then carefully brush or lift the loose material out.
Why Man-dle Uses Wooden Wicks
Man-dle uses wooden wicks because they create a distinctive fragrance experience.
Wooden wicks provide:
A gentle crackling sound
A warm and relaxing atmosphere
A strong visual presentation
Simple maintenance between burns
A sensory experience that supports Man-dle’s focus on calm
The choice of a wooden wick is part of the complete Man-dle experience. It complements the fragrance, vessel, wooden plank, and atmosphere created during every burn.
Stop Burning at the Proper Time
Stop burning your candle when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel.
Continuing to burn a candle with very little wax remaining may cause the bottom of the container to become excessively hot.
Knowing when to stop is an important part of protecting the candle, your furniture, and the surrounding area.
How to Use a Man-dle Candle With a Warmer
A candle warmer gives you a flameless way to experience your Man-dle fragrance.
To use the warmer method:
Select a warmer designed for candle vessels.
Place the warmer on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface.
Make sure the candle fits securely.
Position the candle so it is level and not tilted.
Follow the warmer manufacturer’s instructions.
Turn the warmer on and allow the wax to release its fragrance.
Turn it off when the fragrance session is complete.
Allow the wax and vessel to cool before moving them.
For a bottom-heating warmer, place the candle directly on the approved warming plate. Do not place the wooden plank between the candle and the active warming surface unless the warmer manufacturer specifically states that it is permitted.
The wooden plank is intended primarily for traditional candle placement and presentation.
Candle-Warmer Don’ts
Do not light the wooden wick while the warmer is operating.
Do not place an uneven or tilted candle on the warmer.
Do not add water or additional fragrance oil to the wax.
Do not leave the warmer running unattended.
Do not use damaged electrical cords or equipment.
Do not touch or move the vessel while the wax is melted.
Do not use a warmer that is too small for the candle.
The fragrance may gradually become lighter after repeated warming sessions. When the scent is no longer noticeable enough for your preference, it may be time to replace the candle.
How to Use Man-dle Wax Melts
Man-dle wax melts offer another flameless way to fragrance your surroundings.
They are ideal for approved spaces such as:
Bedrooms
Living rooms
Bathrooms
Offices
Apartments
Condos
Guest rooms
Dorm rooms where warmers are permitted
Airbnbs and rental spaces where approved
To use your wax melts:
Place one or two pieces into an approved wax warmer.
Do not overfill the warming dish.
Turn the warmer on.
Allow the wax to melt gradually.
Turn the warmer off when you are finished.
Allow the wax to cool completely before removing or replacing it.
Wax-Melt Don’ts
Do not add water to the wax.
Do not place wax directly on a stove or hot plate.
Do not use an unapproved container.
Do not leave the warmer unattended.
Do not touch or move hot wax.
Do not add more wax than the dish can safely hold.
How to Use Man-dle Home, Auto, and Fabric Sprays
Man-dle sprays provide a quick way to refresh approved areas throughout your everyday routine.
Depending on the product instructions, they may be used to refresh:
Rooms
Vehicles
Clothing
Work gear
Shoes
Gym bags
Upholstery
Approved fabric surfaces
Before using a spray:
Shake the bottle when needed.
Test a small, hidden area first.
Hold the bottle several inches away.
Apply a light mist.
Avoid heavily soaking the surface.
Allow the area to dry completely.
Spray Don’ts
Do not spray toward an open flame.
Do not spray onto a hot candle or warmer.
Do not spray directly toward people or pets.
Do not spray around food or drinks.
Do not apply to skin unless the product is specifically labeled for personal use.
Do not heavily spray hard floors because they may become slippery.
Do not apply to delicate materials without testing first.
When using a spray inside a vehicle, apply it lightly and allow the interior to air out before driving.
How to Use Man-dle Carpet Fresh Powder
Man-dle Carpet Fresh Powder is designed to refresh the areas underfoot.
To use it:
Begin with a dry carpet or rug.
Test a small, hidden area first.
Sprinkle a light and even layer over the surface.
Allow the powder to sit for the recommended amount of time.
Vacuum the treated area thoroughly.
Empty or clean the vacuum as needed.
Do not apply excessive amounts. Keep children and pets away from the area until the powder has been completely vacuumed.
How to Clean Spilled Candle Wax
Wax spills should be cleaned only after the wax has completely cooled and hardened.
Never attempt to wipe up hot wax. Doing so may spread it, push it deeper into the surface, or cause burns.
Cleaning Hardened Wax
Allow the wax to cool completely.
Gently lift or scrape away the hardened wax.
Use a plastic card or another non-sharp tool.
Avoid scratching or cutting the surface.
Remove as much solid wax as possible before treating the residue.
For remaining wax or oily residue on a compatible hard, nonporous surface, use 75% isopropyl rubbing alcohol.
Lightly dampen a clean cloth with the alcohol and gently wipe the affected area.
Always test the alcohol on a small, hidden section first. Isopropyl alcohol may damage certain finishes, including:
Painted surfaces
Stained wood
Varnished materials
Some plastics
Delicate fabrics
Porous materials
Finished furniture
Do not pour rubbing alcohol directly onto the candle, wooden plank, label, wax, furniture, or surrounding surface.
Important Alcohol Safety
Isopropyl rubbing alcohol is flammable.
Before using it:
Extinguish the candle completely.
Make sure the wick is no longer glowing.
Turn off all warmers.
Remove other flames and heat sources.
Allow the candle and surrounding area to cool.
Use the alcohol in a ventilated area.
Allow the cleaned surface to dry completely.
Do not relight the candle or turn the warmer back on until the rubbing alcohol has fully evaporated and the area is completely dry.
